38ish.

Saturday 13th December

I am officially an 80’s girl! Officially! I’ve been hovering around it for a while now, particularly with my starting off each morning in the 80’s and weighing in in the very low nineties. (90.1 is just cruel.) But today at my weigh in, I hit 89.4, which puts me very squarely in the 80’s bracket! Hurruh! My next goal is to get to 86.5, which will put my BMI at 29.9, or “Overweight” rather than Obese.

Current Stats

Saturday 15th November

I gained 0.2. Not very pleased with myself at the moment. I’ve been hovering for so long that I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll get there.

So this week, I’m going to refocus. I think maybe that I’ve been focusing so much on hitting 89.9 that it’s become a kind of barrier. So instead, I’m going to focus on getting to 85.0. I’m hoping that the long-range focus will help. I’m not that far away — 5 kilos is completely possible, so…

Will try, anyway.

Saturday 8th November

Frustration, frustration, frustration.

I’ve been hovering at 90kg for the past 3-4 weeks (although to be fair, always going smaller.) 91.0, 90.5, 90.2. I made a concerted effort this week to stick to it all, and my personal scales were registering 89.x’s for most of the week. Come last night, I went to a dinner party and ate too much — probably over my daily limit, but I was partly expecting that, and had saved a significant amount. It was just the sheer volume of food. So I go in for my weigh-in today, hoping against hope that I’ll have lost .3 to get me over the line — or more, since that’s what I’d been registering all day. I step on the scales and: 90.0. I’m pretty certain that my body is taunting me here. All I want — so desperately is to get to that 89.9 so that I can focus on my next goal. This weekly shuffling about is so tiresome.

But the other choice is to give up and never get to 89.9, so I’m going to do what I can — more, in fact, because at this point I’d rather smash 89.9 out of the ballpark and hit 88.x — it’s that much closer to my next goal, and I’d love that.

Also, the 10 in 10 challenge is officially over — I believe I ended on a loss of 3.8, which wasn’t amazing but it was still less than when I started.

Friday 26th September

Had a mild bout of food poisoning last night — no idea what from, though. Went to my meeting today and then came home, ate some Weetbix, and am now writing this. My mind wants some of the pie left over in the fridge…my body isn’t hearing of it. I feel quite ill everytime I think about eating anything else, and I’m exhausted from not much sleep, so I suspect that I’ll have a nap once this is written and see how I feel when I wake up.

So, weigh in today:

Friday 29th August

Just had my weigh in for the first week of the 10 in 10 challenge, and I lost .9! It’s 100 grams short, fair enough, but I’m really happy with it, and it really motivates me to do more: more exercise, more tracking, more planning…just more.

Got my blood taken today, whic puts me off exercise for a little while at least, and then I’ll go back to it. Am feeling a little bit drained right now, so may have a small nap until lunch (about 12:30), and then get back into it.

But first, current stats:

Friday 25th July

Weigh In today. Was not expecting much; although I was quite good this week (well, not entirely true. Not so much ‘good’ as ‘not over points’, the difference being what made up those points), I went out to a party last night and had A Very Good Time (note the capitals). Which means that I enjoyed my large meal from Red Rooster, and drank far, far too much alcohol (particularly because they count towards points), and then ate some donuts, and red frogs and…well, at least I enjoyed myself.

I got in at 2:30 last night and dragged my bum out of bed at 8:00am this morning, feeling dehydrated but not really ‘hung over’ — no headache, nausea, etc. Just a little tired, thirsty and bloated. Accordingly, I figured that what with the bloating, I’d have gained weight, even if it was just for one day.

But I lost! I lost .6 of a kilo, which brings me to 6.4 kilos lost. I’ll have to work hard this week in order to ensure that it stays that way, and wasn’t just because there was no water in my body, but I’m determined to continue on from here.

In addition, there are now officially 21 weeks and 5 days until Christmas! I know I’ve written challenges down before but didn’t come through, but I feel like I can with this one, for several reasons. While I’ve been at home, I’ve started coming up with plans to cope at college. It includes keeping low fat yoghurt and vegetables in my fridge for snacks, as well as Diet Coke (so I don’t drink cordial during lunch, etc). During my main, hot meal of the day, I was always make myself eat a bowl of salad before I have my no-doubt-fatty lasagne/pasta/stir-fry/etc. In addition, I’m updating this much more regularly, keeping myself more accountable.

So I am setting this challenge for myself. I wanted to be 20kg lighter by the end of this year, that was always my goal, and so my new challenge is to have lost 20.4kg (So that I’m under 80kg) by Christmas. This means that I will need to lose exactly 14 kilograms in 20 weeks. Now that’s quite a challenge, I know it is. It’s 700grams per week. It’ll require lots of discipline and motivation, but realistically — I achieved that this week. And two weeks ago. And three weeks ago. So I am going to believe that I will meet this challenge, and I am going to try as hard as possible to do so. Because I believe that I will lose this weight. And I believe that I damned well deserve to.
